Operation Party

A little party never hurt anyone so we're setting up the smallest political party in the world (it's pretend).

We aksed the residents of Milcote Road to come up with their own Milcote Ministerial roles.

We had lots of great response with some very original and imaginative roles. These included a Minister of Retro, a Time Minister and a Minister of Big Imaginations.

Milcote Ministers helped to get the party started and helped with planning a few operations. To find out more click on the link below

Operation Few of My Favourite Things

There’s more than meets the eyes when it comes to what a road is really like. We wanted to show Milcote Road’s true colours.

We sent out 10 questions to all those taking part asking them about their 10 favourite things including their favourite songs, their favourite food, favourite colour and favourite things about where they lived.

We presented the results on a banner and put it up outside Antonios Cafe on the road. We also took a few of the roads favourite songs and imagined what Milcote Road would sing if it had a voice. We took some of the more upbeat lyrics and made some messages from Milcote Road posters out of them.

Operation Home Front

We sent out a text to see if residents wanted a free photography portrait outside their front door. We worked with local photographer Nikki Cooper to take photos. 20 households took part.

Operation Takeout

on 20 June 2020, at 3am in the morning, 175 goody bags were left outside 175 households on Milcote Road to invite them to be part of Milcote Assembled. We asked people to text a number to be part of the project.

We had an overwhelming response and this website documents each operation and how local residents got involved.
