Operation Express

Express yourself don’t repress yourself

Having asked local people to come up with ideas for Milcote Minesterial roles, we have decided to run a Milcote Road Art Exhibition.

This has been led by the Minister of Big Imagination and they have designed the poster for the exhibition. Other Ministers have also expressed an interest in putting on an exhibition too including our Minister of Creativitiy.

The exhibition takes place on Sat 29 August, 11am-4pm.

Here are some simple guidelines:

  1. Anything goes (as long as it is not offensive -any content that incites hatred, contains obscene language and nudity will not be included)

  2. Anyone is welcome to enter. Even pets can enter. Whether you’re a beginner or a bloomer, it does not matter. We just want to see you express yourself and be yourself

  3. Any art form goes. You could do a drawing, paint a picture, write some music, take some photos, make a sculpture, create a dance performance, juggle really badly. If anything is programmed for a specific time such as a dance show, you will NEED to let us know so we can add this to the schedule. The Minister of New Ancient Monuments suggested people could make a version of Stonehenge in their front garden. Now there’s an idea! If you need some inspiration get in touch. We have Minsiters who can help.

  4. You can put the art anywhere you want; in your front window, on your door, on your gate, in your garden, on your fence, wherever you want it to. You could also submit the work to us if you want and we can try and put it somewhere.

  5. Social distancing measures must be in place at all times.

  6. We can help with printing costs of your work. You must let us know by Tues 25 August 5pm if you want us to print anything for you.

To enter

Please can you let us know if you are entering some work and a title for your work. All entries must be provided by Fri 28 Aug at 2pm. We will provide you with an Entry Number. This will allow us to list all the work on the website so people know what to see and look out for on the day. Please email milcoteassembled@gmail.com with information of your artwork including its title and where it will be located e.g. Window number 87 or front garden at no. 52.
